BIO:
Barb came to textiles, fiber art, and weaving, through a forty year career as a Commercial Interior Designer. As a member of The Missouri Fiber Artists, Weavers Guild of St. Louis, The Florida Arts Council and The Lower Keys Artists Network, she has created fiber art using various techniques including weaving, embroidery, watercolor painting, basket weaving and mixed media. Her artwork continues to be inspired by shapes, shadows, and colors, while environmental events are increasingly influencing and blending with inspiration.

Some of the visual experiences that influence her work include walking in the woods being inspired by a poem (Stumps Voice), snorkeling in clear water (Mother Ocean), hiking up to a glacier (Iā€™m Melting) or experiencing life on an island recovering from a hurricane (Life In Pieces).

Barb loves working with the slow handwork of weaving and embroidery, saying that it provides time for contemplative thought during the process allowing for creative adjustments to the final work.
